I've been using the X-Series cameras since the X-T1 and love their IQ and dedicated controls. Didn't upgrade to the X-T2 when it came out and skipped to the X-T3 and then X-T4. I then bought an X-T2 as a second body and found that the 24Mp sensor had lower levels of chroma noise at high ISO than the 26Mp sensor. Found this out at a wedding in a dimly lit church using both an X-T2 and X-T4 together. When viewing in LightRoom, the X-T2 RAW images at ISO 6400 were cleaner! Did a test with same scenes from both cameras with same lenses later on and yes, the X-T2 was cleaner at high ISO. Nipped over to the DPReview site and compared their studio scene RAW images at 6400 ISO concentrating on the faces in the test image and yes, the X-T2 showed less chroma noise there too. I then asked myself a serious question. Did I really need the X-T4, or was the X-T2? The obvious advantage of the X-T4 was in body image stabilisation, but that is pretty irrelevant for people photography, which is most of what I do. Use a slower shutter speed on people and all you get is blurry people! So, after some thought, I bought another X-T2 and sold the X-T4, spending the money gained on more glass.
