This is an excellent CPU with integrated Vega 7 graphics. In several games, it extracts a greater number of FPS compared to CPUs coupled with a 2GB GDDR5 Nvidia Geforce GT 1030 dedicated graphics card. The best part is that at the beginning of November 2022, in stores across Mexico (and possibly other countries as well), the price of the Ryzen 5 5600G plummeted to almost 50% of its original value, costing less than $2,000.00 MXN (approximately $100.00 USD) for a new unit. This has made it a perfect choice for those looking to upgrade their old desktop PCs, whether they own a Ryzen or an Intel. Specifically, if you have an AM4 socket used by Ryzen up to the 5th generation, say a Ryzen 5 2600, you can upgrade it with the Ryzen 5 5600G and sell the exchanged CPU and old video card to recoup some of the upgrade cost. For instance, although the Ryzen 7 7600X includes supposedly more advanced integrated graphics than the VEGA, it's infinitely weaker. Therefore, you can pair this with an Nvidia 1030 graphics card to get more graphic capacity than the one integrated, and perhaps even greater than what the Ryzen 5 5600G provides. And when the opportunity arises, you can upgrade to a much more advanced (and similarly more expensive) graphics card.

Pros

  • Powerful integrated graphics
  • Higher frequencies than the previous generation
  • Extremely economical
  • Acceptable moderate temperatures

Cons

  • PCIe 3.0

I currently own a Ryzen 5600g and a Gtx 1650 4gb and the CPU performs very well in gaming as well as multitasking. Earlier, I used to face bottleneck with the i7 2600k but with this, you can use an RTX 3070 without much difficulty. It's more powerful than a Ryzen 5 3600, less expensive, and easier to find, so if you see it for around $250, go for it. (I can't give an opinion on the graphics part of the CPU as I haven't tested it.) A little tip, undervolt your CPU to decrease the temperature. 1.280v should be sufficient, otherwise check out a tutorial.

Pros

  • Performance
  • Price
  • Usable without GPU

Cons

  • Lack of PCIe 4.0

This CPU has very decent integrated graphics, which make it great for either a HTPC (Home Theater PC) or entry level Gaming/productivity PC. The value proposition was great when I got it for $260, but this processor is almost a no-brainer for $130. Add to that the cheap prices of B550 boards and DDR4 RAM, the included stock cooler, great iGPU, the falling prices of M.2 SSDs, and you can get a very performant PC for only $350. I highly recommend this for anyone looking for an upgrade to their existing AM4 PC, but if you are building a new gaming rig, I would consider AM5 because of the upgrade path.

Pros

  • Low Price
  • High Performance
  • Great iGPU
  • Box Cooler (Wraith Stealth)
  • 65w TDP (less than Pentium D lol)
  • Overclockable

Cons

  • AM4
  • Only supports PCIe 3.0
