I love the new iMac. I can render everything much faster than with my intel mac. The display is great and is very bright (even though I sit next to a large window with lots of sunlight coming in). Gaming on the machine is incredible, changing the format of a full movie to mp4 takes just 5-6 minutes. The camera quality is great etc. I could go on and on, but for a normal user who doesn’t render 5 8k videos at the same time, the iMac is a spectacular machine to use every day!

Pros

  • Bright screen
  • Great design
  • Slim format
  • Fast performance
  • Good with other Apple devices
  • Great video quality (day & night)
  • A show piece in a room

Cons

  • Can’t adjust the hight of the screen
  • Not grippy enough pads on the bottom

Performance

CPU speed

4 x 3.2 GHz & 4 x 2 GHz (Apple M1)

4 x 2.4 GHz (Intel Core i5-1135G7)

The CPU speed indicates how many processing cycles per second can be executed by a CPU, considering all of its cores (processing units). It is calculated by adding the clock rates of each core or, in the case of multi-core processors employing different microarchitectures, of each group of cores.
RAM

16GB

8GB

Random-access memory (RAM) is a form of memory used to store working data and machine code. Having more RAM is particularly useful for multitasking, allowing you to run more programs at once or have more tabs open in your browser.
GPU clock speed

Unknown. Help us by suggesting a value. (Apple iMac 24" Apple M1 / 16GB RAM / 2TB SSD)

The clock speed of the graphics processing unit (GPU).
This benchmark measures the performance of the CPU using multiple threads.
This benchmark measures the performance of the CPU using a single thread.
More threads result in faster performance and better multitasking.
DDR (Double Data Rate) memory is the most common type of RAM. Newer versions of DDR memory support higher maximum speeds and are more energy-efficient.
VRAM

Unknown. Help us by suggesting a value. (Dell Inspiron 5400 AIO 23.8" Intel Core i5-1135G7 / 8GB RAM / 512GB SSD)

VRAM (video RAM) is the dedicated memory of a graphics card. More VRAM generally allows you to run games at higher settings, especially for things like texture resolution.
When the GPU is running below its limitations, it can boost to a higher clock speed in order to give increased performance.

Display

pixel density

333 ppi

92 ppi

Pixel density is a measurement of a screen's resolution, expressed as the number of pixels per inch (PPI) on the screen. A higher pixel density translates into more clarity and sharpness for the images rendered on the screen, thus improving the quality of the viewing experience.
resolution

4480 x 2520 px

1920 x 1080 px

Resolution is an essential indicator of a screen's image quality, representing the maximum amount of pixels that can be shown on the screen. The resolution is given as a compound value, comprised of horizontal and vertical pixels.
has anti-reflection coating
