A city located near to the country capital may provide more possibilities. Some people love to visit or live in a quiet city, but also want to enjoy the variety of entertainment options or job opportunities that a capital city may offer.

The Metropolis of Spain

Madrid is the capital of Spain and also the country's largest city. Madrid is world-famous for its culture, gastronomy and all the monuments (all recognized by UNESCO as World Heritage sites) that it offers both to foreign and local visitors. On the matter of transportation, Madrid boasts one of the best transit systems throughout Europe, and its public transportation is good and decent (although that doesn't mean it's perfect). The metro is excellent (although it would be nice if they expanded the network to the surrounding suburbs such as Getafe, Pinto, Móstoles, etc, in the future). As far as train networks go, Madrid has a very strong rail system. The only critique I would give in this aspect is that the Chamartín Station (which is heavily trafficked) urgently needs renovation. Madrid also has a mega airport in the town of Barajas, which offers countless flights to various destinations around the world. As befits a capital, Madrid has a beautiful skyline composed of skyscrapers from 'Four Roads', the five towers of Madrid and the famous and unusual Kio towers. Discussing social services, Madrid has a good public health system, but that doesn't save it from being extremely slow and bureaucratic. In terms of sports, Madrid is home to the stadiums of Real Madrid and Atletico de Madrid (clubs that have been on everyone's lips this past decade). Madrid is a city for commerce, tourism, sports, business, nature, and urban living that keeps growing. New housing is being built daily, causing the gradual expansion of the capital. I have faith that with the future project 'Madrid Nuevo Norte' the city will reach its zenith of global influence. Regards and thank you for your attention, Pablo

Madrid is a very beautiful city, but its people can be quite rude. While the public transportation is good, it's expensive, yet the city is clean and well-organized. Salaries are low and it's difficult to find employment.
