DirectX is used in video games, with newer versions supporting better graphics and features. The latest version is DirectX 12 Ultimate, which includes support for ray tracing, mesh shaders, and variable rate shading (VRS).
OpenGL is used in games, with newer versions supporting better graphics.
Some apps use OpenCL to apply the power of the graphics processing unit (GPU) for non-graphical computing. Newer versions introduce more functionality and better performance.
The graphics card supports multi-display technology. This allows you to configure multiple monitors in order to create a more immersive gaming experience, such as having a wider field of view.
A lower load temperature means that the card produces less heat and its cooling system performs better.
Ray tracing is an advanced light rendering technique that provides more realistic lighting, shadows, and reflections in games.
Allows you to view in 3D (if you have a 3D display and glasses).
DLSS (Deep Learning Super Sampling) is an upscaling technology powered by AI. It allows the graphics card to render games at a lower resolution and upscale them to a higher resolution with near-native visual quality and increased performance. DLSS is only available on select games.
AMD's Smart Access Memory (SAM) and Intel's Resizable BAR are two technologies that allow the CPU to have faster access to the graphics card, which can give a performance boost. It requires a compatible motherboard, graphics card, and CPU.

4070 laptop is great even at some games at 1440p, but i would recommend it to use it for 1080p. VRAM could be higher (atleast 10GB) also a wider memory bus width (192 bits atleast) would be really good. Laptops with 4070's are often overpriced (1500$+). If you can't find any 4070 atleast under 1400$ get the 4060 or save for 4080. I picked an HP Omen 16 with Ryzen 9 7940HS + 4070 for $1100 at BestBuy, only discounts like these are worth it because is not too much difference with 4060 laptops prices. I say this because 4070 and 4060 difference is not too high so if price between them is high you should go for 4060, wait for 4070 discounts or save for 4080. I think Nvidia made 4070 only for you to pick 4080 instead and pay more which is really annoying because 4070 could be a really good intermediate between 4060 and 4080 if it had 192 bits memory bus width and 10GB of VRAM atleast. I hope this could help you.
