I first bought an a1 first gen and the battery was pants. I called b@o support and they not only agreed but upgraded me to a second generation without hesitation. Their online support is second to none, even on Sunday. The speaker has an excellent base driver which makes listening to reggae a pleasure. It’s waterproof and sturdy enough to chuck in a bag. The battery goes on and on with a standard single port for charging makes life easy. When needed I recharge overnight. But you can charge it when playing. It supports apt X. No drop out at all. Pairing is very easy. Just press the button; B&O offer software updates and actually deliver tangible improvements. I control them with the app that additionally streams DAB and deezer I’ve bought a second. Double the pleasure as they stereo pair. For a couple of hundred quid ( less if you risk second hand) it’s a brilliant, durable quality speaker. If I wanted to be picky, it would be about the b@o product range and my preferences for listening to vinyl. I contacted their support and the company officially would prefer you use a phone tablet or computer to broadcast. However their network of shops contain hi-fi geniuses ( not a title) and if you call they will recommend certain Bluetooth broadcast devices. I went for a pro-ject S series phono stage with Bluetooth that allows me to play records onto these speakers and also a pair of ruark mr1’s simultaneously.
