aptx Adaptive is an audio codec for Bluetooth devices that is developed by Qualcomm. It has a variable bit rate (between 279kbps and 420kbps), which means it can adjust the bit rate for different scenarios, such as listening to HD audio or reducing interference from other devices.
aptX HD is an audio codec for Bluetooth devices that is developed by Qualcomm. It supports high quality 24-bit audio (at a bit rate of 576kbps).

Good sound it's very loud for its size they don't make them like that anymore. The newer ones are just to simple they aren't as powerful as the JBL Xtreme 1.

Tengo mi JBL Xtreme desde el 2019 y hasta hoy aun lo tengo y no pienso deshacerme de el mientras funcione. Prácticamente es poco lo negativo que puedes decir de este equipo, la calidad de sonido es asombrosa y conectarlo a la TV mientras ves películas es un deleite si tienes una habitación no muy grande, (la mía tiene alrededor de 20m2). Como puntos negativos puedo decir que, si bien es un terminal de muy buena calidad, la parte exterior de tela es mas bien bastante burda para lo que vale, se puede ver barata o con un aspecto descolorido o viejo, al punto de encontrar replicas exactas con mejor parte exterior que la original. Otro dato del que nadie habla es que si utilizas el terminal a máximo volumen por un tiempo prolongado, puedes acabar dañando la batería muy rápidamente. Los puntos de sujeción pueden ser algo endebles, al punto que recomendaría cambiarlas por el que traen las replicas que son de metal y no hay diferencia alguna en diseño y estética. Por ultimo, la calidad de sonido es especialmente mayor si la conectas a través del cable auxiliar, su alcance de bluetooth es muy buena (me arriesgo a decir que unos 8 o 9 metros) pero la calidad de sonido por bluetooth podría ser mejor.
